I took my daughter to the beach for the first time this summer, and she instantly fell in love with being there. We don’t live near a beach, so I had to include it with another adventure we were taking together. Because we were going to be in Rhode Island for something else, I decided this would be the perfect time to go. Most people won’t think of Rhode Island first when they pick a place to go to the beach, but for our purposes it worked out great. Not only that, I got some great beach photos to carry me over until the next time I can go.

My digital camera has a setting specifically for taking beach photos, but I ended up not even having to use it. The auto picture setting worked so well, I didn’t even think to try it. The beach photos I took of my little girl in the ocean for the first time came out stunning. It was almost as if I had hired a professional to take the shots for me. After taking many beach photos of her, I turned in all directions and took photos of whatever caught my fancy. There were sights to behold all around me, and I ended up taking about fifty photos that afternoon.

That night, we ate at a restaurant that was overlooking the beach. I wanted to get some beach photos of the sunset, but my waiter had other ideas. Not only did three shrimp cost me ten bucks, my food came at the exact moment when I should have been outside shooting the sunset. I guess I could have gotten up and went out, but I didn’t want to be rude to my dining companions. I guess those beach photos will have to wait for another time and another trip.

After we ate, I did get some lovely beach photos before the night turned too dark. I was surprised how beautifully the last remaining rays of light from the sun caught the tiny waves. These beach photos came out great, and I am going to print one of them out in poster size to hang on my wall. There is something serene and inspiring about good beach photos, and they are even more valuable if you take them yourself. You can look at them any time, and instantly be taken back to a moment when you had nothing to do other than enjoy the beauty around you.
